OWNER DESCRIPTION:

Tex is a 5 yr old draft cross gelding. Standing 15.1 hands

and weighing 1400 lbs, he is a big ol’ teddy bear! This guy

has spent the last two years with us going to hunting

camp in the wilderness and being used on the ranch. He

has been packed, ridden on fishing trips and elk hunts,

used to gather horses, gather and sort cattle, been to

brandings, and doctored cattle outside. Just a fun horse

with lots of heart and try. Tex is surefooted and confident

on the trail, he knows how to navigate through rocks and

down timber and keeps his cool around wildlife. He’s been

around cattle on the ranch and knows what it takes to get

a job done, yet he’s gentle enough to be a strong prospect

as a great family horse. He will neck rein, ride off leg

pressure, and lope pretty circles. Easy to catch, loads and

trailers well, stands tied, started driving, does fine with

time off, and is hobble and picket broke. 100% sound and

sane, with no buck or bad habits. Heavy boned, with good

hard feet, and stands well for the farrier. Tex has a very

solid foundation and is ready for almost any job you have

for him. Just an outstanding individual, with personality

and looks to boot!
